Who should I speak to about my academic programme?

Your teachers, Eithne, or Liz (Top Floor)

Do I go to the same classroomfor all my lessons?

Yes, your morning lessons are in the same classroom. If you have afternoon lessons, your teacher will tell you which room to go to.

Who should I speak to if I wish to change level?

Your teachers, Eithne or Liz (Top Floor). They will also organise a test for you to see if you are studying at the right level.

Who should I speak to if I wish to book individual lessons?

You should speak to Eithne.

Where is the language laboratory and when is it open?

The language laboratory is in room number 9, on the first
floor. It is open from 14:00 – 17:00 daily and a teacher is
in attendance from 14:00 – 16:30. If you need help in the
laboratory, please speak to Liz or Conor.

How do I use the computers?

The computers are in room 2 and are available in the morning
before class and in the afternoon. They are free to Emerald
students. The computers are popular and therefore you need
to speak with Ann in reception in order to make a reservation.
Please note we also have free wireless Internet connection
throughout the school and buildings.

Where are the dictionaries?

Dictionaries are in room 9. You may borrow them in the
afternoon. You may not take them home.

Who should I speak to about my accommodation?

Speak to Kirstin, in the administration office on the top floor.

Who do I speak to about extending my course?

Speak to Conor or Paloma in the administration office on the
top floor.

Where can I find information about the social programme?

The student notice board beside the canteen has all the
information about the activities organised each week. For
further information on any activity, please speak to Martina.

What time do the excursions start?

You are entitled to participate in one excursion per week.
They generally start at 14:00 from reception. Sometimes
they start a little earlier, at 13:30. Exact information on each
excursion can be found on the notice board in the reception
area, beside the coffee bar, or ask Martina for more details.

Where can I buy a telephone card?

You can buy a telephone card from Martina.

When is the coffee bar open?

8:30 – 9:00, 11:00 – 11:15 & from 13:15 - 14:30.

Where is the immigration Office?

The Immigration Office is at 13-14 Burgh Quay, in the
city centre. Martina will help you with the necessary
documents and letters if you need to go there. If you need
a school attendance letter in order to extend your visa,
please ask Eithne.
