Our specialised courses are divided into three separate categories each of which is described in this section. These are:

Intensive Business English
Professional and Technical English
Training Through English

Each of our specialised courses is designed to match the particular requirements of the specialist area in question. Each course focuses on improving students' use of English and communicative skills in specific, work-related situations, e.g. law, medicine, computers, management, accountancy, marketing, quality control, tourism and teaching.
For student groups these courses are arranged and run in accordance with the groups' requirements. For individual students these courses are subject to availability. Please contact the Institute directly for more information.

Use of two multi-media language laboratories offering self-access and tutor monitored facilities. Free access to internet and e-mail.
We offer free Wireless Internet Access at Palmerston Park. Students can enjoy unlimited Internet access throughout the school buildings and garden.

PERSONAL INTENSIVE COURSE SPC 1

This course is especially designed for the professional who wishes to concentrate on a particular area or would like to learn as much English as possible in a short space of time.
A tailor made timetable can be agreed between the student and the Director of Studies. The focus is on the four essential skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing using the vocabulary and terminology relevant to the profession in question.

Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 30 Hours’ Individual Tuition
3 hours each morning and 3 hours in the afternoon. All classes are 60-minute hours
Minimum Course Duration: One week.
Age Group: The Personal Intensive Course is available to students aged 18+
Levels: All levels available from complete beginner to advanced.

INTENSIVE COMBINED COURSE SPC 4

The course offers a mix of group and individual classes and makes full use of limited time available during a short stay.
In the morning the General Intensive course covers the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In the afternoon, the individual lessons enable participants to work on any specific problem areas they may have and on their particular field such as Business English.

Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 20 Hours' Group Tuition plus 10 Hours' Individual Tuition
4 hours' Group Tuition each morning and 2 hours' Individual Tuition in the afternoon. All classes are 60-minute hours
Minimum Course Duration: One week
Age group: The Intensive Combined Course is available to students aged 18+
Average Number of Students per class: For morning classes the average number is 10 and the maximum class size is 14.
Levels: All levels available from complete beginner to advanced. There are fixed dates for complete beginners.
